Refuge In Times of Chaos:
An election support practice group
In the midst of the US election, multiple devastating crises, and the everyday pull to disconnect, attuning to the heart is a radical act that supports love and justice. It’s natural that we may be experiencing strong emotions that require attention and kindness. Learning to turn towards difficult emotions can help us move beyond the tendencies of overwhelm and disconnection, honor what is happening internally and externally, so that we may listen deeply and respond accordingly. In this course we will touch the terrain of the heart: exploring the nature of grief, anger, love, and loss, while cultivating our capacity to stay connected and awake to continue our efforts toward collective liberation. While our emphasis is on emotions and not the stories around them, we welcome all your parts and feelings.
Join Khalila Gillett and Sara Shapouri on zoom for this 5 week investigation into navigating the times we are in through the wisdom of emotions. We’ll explore practices that honor and listen to difficult emotions, track our capacity and resource ourselves to build resilience, and open the heart towards the world so we can show up ethically, responsibly, and lovingly in these times.
We’ll meet for 5 weeks on Thursdays 3:30-5:00pm PT October 17 - November 14, with a sitting practice on Tuesdays at 10:00-10:45am PT October 22nd - November 12.
Sliding Scale: $200 - $500. Accessibility option: pay what you can.
